So cute. Did we ever tell you about the gnome that mom and dad purchased and just placed in my grandparents yard? It was all Amelie (spelling?) esque, but I'm sure that had no clue what we were going for.
You know..I do think you told me about how you were planning to put the gnome in your grandparents yard, but I never got to hear what they thought afterward. I love my gnome. We happened upon him at a garden shop in Cambria. I told Royce, "i have to find a gnome" and as we searched through the hoards of $40 gnomes, i stumbled upon this little guy for $9.00. The tip of his hat is broken off. So...being that he was a gnome and a maimed one at that, Royce agreed that he did indeed need to come home with us to swing in our Lime tree out back - until he feels the urge to travel the globe and send us postcards....wouldn't that be so funny???
Actually my gnome is in my garage still. He never got to go on his surprise trip to my parents house but it could still happen. It was a great idea, just like all the other great ideas, projects and dreams that clutter my garage.
The poor little guy took a tumble (did he jump?) and broke his head. I put humpty dumpty back together as much as possible and covered the rest with a knit ski hat from the doll clothes box.
He actually looks rather dashing and greets me cheerfully every time I venture out into the scary garage. I'm sure he'd rather be swinging from a lime tree somewhere.....
Stick him on a plane and send him over here...they can take turns swinging. Actually, i would encourage you to take him out of your garage and put him somewhere that you can see him out your window. I sit down to eat my oatmeal every morning, look out the window and see him swinging in the tree and i practically laugh - okay...giggle is more like it. He makes me happy. My gnome has a broken cap too....maybe they are brother gnomes...........
I've always wanted a gnome too! I've looked at many but one has never caught my eye and affection really. My gnome will come to me one day...
p.s. Andy and I have been watching Pride and Prejudice all day (the old and new versions) and now that I've been hearing English people talking all day, I've noticed that we all write a little like they talk. I guess we all watch those kinds of movies so much that they seep into our lives in every way!
Andy is watching them?? Wow...If only I could convince Ryan too, he would probably like them, if I could tear him away from stargate and old downloaded episodes of the twilight zone...
