Friday and Saturday in Cambria....

Coming from 105 degrees in the valley...we were hit with 45 degree temps on Friday night...we were NOT prepared for the cold. We were all discussing how silly it was that we didn't pack better clothing....more appropriate to the coast. We're all in "hundred degree mindset" I suppose - shorts, tshirts, flipflops, etc. We had to buy Ryan and Sean sweatshirts at a local gas station. ha! It was nice to actually have a cold nose and cold toes for a change rather than a face (and body) covered with riverlets of perspiration!

Look at all the Sea Pixies we found at the beach!

"The artist, if he is not forgotten how to listen, must retain the vision which includes angels and dragons and unicorns, and all the lovely creatures which our world would put in a box marked Children Only!

Another Lucky Dragonfly for me this morning!

He liked having his picture taken - he let me get closer and closer until i was less than 12 inches away from him. Very cool.

Memorial Day - Royce stopped the car for me at the local cemetary so I could photograph all the beautiful American Flags....

"When I sound the fairy call, gather here in silent meeting,Chin to knee on the orchard wall, cooled with dew and cherries eating. Merry, merry, take a cherry, mine are sounder, mine are rounder, Mine are sweeter for the eater, when the dews fall, and you'll be fairies all."

Christi graduated tonight from Fresno State!!!

What an accomplishment. We are so happy for her to be finished with school! She wondered at times if she would make it...but through it all...morning sickness, studying, papers to write, a new baby, more morning sickness and another baby......SHE FORGED AHEAD and met her goal. We're so happy for her and I just needed to say that we are pleased with her accomplishments. What an example she is to me of hard work and determination! Congratulations Christianne!

"Our motives and thoughts ultimately influence our actions. The testimony of the truthfulness of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ is the most powerful motivating force in our lives. Jesus repeatedly emphasized the power of good thoughts and proper motives: 'Look unto me in every thought; doubt not, fear not' (D&C 6:36). "The testimony of Jesus Christ and the restored gospel will help us in our lives to learn of God's specific plan for us and then to act accordingly. It gives us assurance of the reality, truth, and goodness of God, of the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, and of the divine calling of latter-day prophets. Our testimony motivates us to live righteously, and righteous living will cause our testimony to grow stronger."
~Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Grant's first taste of cotton candy...

We went to a Hoe-Down Carnival at Sean's elementary school last weekend and Grant had his first encounter with cotton candy. He was, needless to say, excited about it. I guess that love for sugar runs in the family....sorry Grant, but it's something you've inherited from me. You'll hate me for it later on down the road. But, in the meantime...enjoy!

My mother is amazing.....!

...She recovered my old ottoman for me for my birthday and then came by today to drop off 2 pillows she needlepointed and put together for me! They are all gorgeous and I love them. Mostly I love her. She's an incredible woman - - - always an example to me of hard work, creativity, selflessness and generosity. Thank you Mom....for these beautiful works of art and for being the best mom I could have ever had.
