The roses are blooming in my garden for another week or so - til it gets too hot and they go into shock...like I do each summer..... 

No wonder he likes to help me make cake! 

This is the garden light my parents gave to me after my surgery. It's got solar panels in it so it charges up all day and then at night the light in the globe comes on and it stays lit all night til the sun comes up in the morning. I love it. It's almost worth having surgery for.

Hey...It's been a week and a half since my surgery - finally I can sit here at the computer without propping myself up like an invalid......and now there's no one here to talk to in Blogland! Where did you all go?

this is a test photo...i am having a hard time getting the computer back on track...but little by little it's coming back to life. Here's a new rose in my garden....the name is superb...It's Hot Cocoa........................yum! 

My computer died Wednesday night!

Hey everyone,

My computer died last Wednesday night and we just got it back today. It is so sad. I lost all my pictures, and though i had most of them saved on a disk, I didn't save the last month's worth.

Anyway...i'm off to finish downloading stuff. I just had to write and thank you all for your good kind, funny words of advice. I'm doing okay. I totally am anxious now...more than EVER...because of the surgery - i had my pre-op appt. with the breast surgeon today, and also because of this computer stuff.

I will write another post later. Hope you've all been okay this week.

I'm grateful for all my hypochondriac friends.

Okay..I need a pep talk...

Hi...My thyroid removal surgery is scheduled for April 27th. I made the mistake of reading on the internet about this surgery and the complications when the entire thyroid is removed. Now I'm very scared. I need your prayers ~ BIG TIME. I don't want to do this. there is a 1 in 3 risk that my voice will be different or ruined. I like to sing! What if i can't sing ever again? Or what if I sound like a man after this is done? The surgery will also take 3 hours because the breast surgery will take the first hour and the thyroid will take 2 hours...probably because my surgeon will be gently, slowly cutting the thyroid and trying to avoid my vocal cord nerves. Why do i ever read ANYTHING about health issues on the Internet? THREE hours under general anesthesia! Anyone have advice for me?

The trellis we used for Christi's wedding reception is now happy in our backyard. There are red climbing roses that are not very big growing up each leg. It will be lovely covered in red roses one day, yes?

Here's a picture of my hydrangeas that are finally blooming after 3 years. They are white, but are still in the green stage. I just love them! It's very exciting to me that they are finally blooming. Haven't a clue what made them grow this year.

Good Weekend...for me anyway...

My whole family has been sick with big bad colds and coughs with high fevers, etc. This isn't good news especially because my surgery is to be scheduled soon. The last thing I need right now is to get sick.

My weekend was very quiet and peaceful...
I watched all 4 Conference sessions this weekend and enjoyed them very much.
