Okay..I need a pep talk...

Hi...My thyroid removal surgery is scheduled for April 27th. I made the mistake of reading on the internet about this surgery and the complications when the entire thyroid is removed. Now I'm very scared. I need your prayers ~ BIG TIME. I don't want to do this. there is a 1 in 3 risk that my voice will be different or ruined. I like to sing! What if i can't sing ever again? Or what if I sound like a man after this is done? The surgery will also take 3 hours because the breast surgery will take the first hour and the thyroid will take 2 hours...probably because my surgeon will be gently, slowly cutting the thyroid and trying to avoid my vocal cord nerves. Why do i ever read ANYTHING about health issues on the Internet? THREE hours under general anesthesia! Anyone have advice for me?

Okay. Chin up my girl and on with life. Its the only one you've got, and its going to have plenty of twists and turns yet, no doubt. Certainly our prayers will be with you and I'll fast too. I'm launching websites for some of my clients right now and will squeeze in some time to create yours for your jewelry and purses soon. Would you like the coloring and theme to be similar to your blog? I think I know you...English Garden, flowers, ivy etc. Slightly Victorian...(If I weren't so obviously NOT, I could almost be gay when It comes to that stuff. I love to design things) Once I'm into it, you can help with the design too.
It will have to be around late May or so since I've got taxes, going to Guatemala on business late April them to Peru, helping Lori's parents with their group trip...but don't give up on me. I'm excited to help you put it together!

Thank you Chris! You are right! I have plenty of living yet to do. This may even help me feel better for the rest of my life, so it is a good thing. I think you have my design style totally pegged. English Garden, flowers obviously, never enough ivy, and slightly Victorian. Totally! You're good at this. The colors for the website...softer pinks and greens...with black too. It will be fun to see what you come up with. Thanks Chris - for being a good friend!

I read about your major hypochondria issues on lulubelles blog. Just so you know, I relate. I currently am worrying that I have appendicitis, cervical cancer, and that I'm pregnant. Probably really I just have an alien living inside me. Soon he/she /it will emerge and show himself. Then we'll have a new pet and have to move because our house is too small for two pets, one of them extraterrestrial.

That's my clever funny Rachel. You always make me laugh. By the way, I've had all those diseases at one time or another plus some. I even thought I had lockjaw once but it went away.

Kim, you are forever in my prayers. In my small amount of experience when it comes to these matters, I think it best just to concentrate of faith. Faith that the Lord will take care of you, and no matter what happens, you will be alright. Which I am sure you will, with not much to worry about. Regardless, you will be in my prayers. And just remember, this too will pass (I think that is from the Bible but I remember it more from My Best Friends Wedding. The words of wisdom we find in good entertainment these days.) Luf ya!

Oh, and I have several ailments as well. Everytime Jessica has something new, I am convinced I have it as well. A nightmare of a sister for a hypocondriac. But we still love her.
