Maybe we ought to quit training quite so hard, ha-ha! I love the optimism in that statement though, perhaps we should face every challenge with such courage.
My sweet nephew is in Afhanistan walking 8-10 miles per day in 129 degree heat through jungle terrain and hearing gunfire. He has had an upper respitory infection since Jul 2 and no antibiotics. We saw his picture and heard his story on a NPR report this week. I have been just so humbled thinking about my seemingly small trials. His wife is due to have their baby in 2 weeks. Jacob wore a marine t-shirt today that reads: "Pain is weakness leaving the body"...Interesting, isn't it. Sort of true. Even emotional pain. It's so hard to remember that "all these things shall give thee experience and shall be for thy good"
Hang on Kim. Find comfort where and when you can. I love the verse in the hymn, Where Can I Turn for Peace, when it says that He "reaches our reaching" Keep reaching Kim. I am praying for you.
nancy...we all will pray for your nephew. I hope he's doing better. what a brave man to go out and serve other people. amazing. i like that - Pain is weakness leaving the body. i might need a tshirt like that!
I'm doing good. I have had my 70th shot and i thinnk they are starting to kick in. i have more energy and just generally feel better. my legs are finally getting less numb. whew!!! now i just need to not have another relapse!!!! that's what the shots are for!
how are you dear nancy? i miss you.
and...lady linda...you're the one training for the trials...out in your master swim class every morning! we are all courageous when needs be. i love ya.
So does that mean since I've already had 4 kids that the 5th one will be easier since I've had so much training? I can always hope right? PS I'm glas the shots are helping.
Kim, you are such an inspiration to us all...reading all the comments from your other friends just shows how truly much you are loved dear friend.
I have a sign just to the side of my bed that I must look at each morning as I get up at 2:30am, that reads,"Be still and know that I am God"! I try to...but being who I am and having some of the trials that I do sometimes just gets the best of me. I can not tell you how grateful I am that we rekindled our friendship.
"Always remember Pooh, you're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.

I only hope I have been truly training instead of playing around when I should have been working !!!!
