We celebrated another birthday today...and we had a hard time getting little Grant to open his presents. He turned his back on all the brightly wrapped gifts in exchange for some giggle time with Sean. Very sweet....he's a kid...and has his priorities in the right place. Who needs presents when one has a friend!!!?

Yes, who does need presents when one has a friend? I think we need to reinvent the birthday party for kids ages 1-18. No more junk that gets played with for one day and then thrown in the closet. What about just having all their friends and family with them at the same time to enjoy an afternoon and evening together?
No more presents!!!! No more junky toys!!! They are taking over my house!!!!
Notice, we as adults, are not included in this little reinvention. We still need presents. :)
Amen, bring on the presents...for the adults I mean. I read ana article about kids bday parties and the idea to give a certificate for a special date with that friend to go or do something fun and out the ordinary...the gift of time and friendship instead of another ugly trampy bratz doll!
which are banned from house...if you couldn't tell. But I love littlest pet shop pets...I could collect them myself! I know I am starting to ramble...but cut me some slack it is 12:30am and I'm on Lortab!
What the heck is Lortab?
A narcotic painkiller. I had stiches in my cheek (on the inside) cause they took off a bump in there. They nmade it sound like no big deal...but it sucks!! It feels quite a bit better today though.
