Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.
Truer words were never spoken, that is, if you can get through the "pit of despair" part of suffering and trials without being permenantely stuck in the fetal position, not to mention overcome the bad habits one acquires during that period of "just trying to survive". Can you tell that I feel a little more damaged than stronger? I still have yet to see the part where I conquer the world and achieve meaningful goals and such...
Robin will come out on the other side and conquer the world...I know it.
Do my ramblings perhaps sound like a Tori song to you?
oh kim, and britten, and helen keller. tis true. all of it. and hard to recognize our strengths that we have gained at times. i believe we are too hard on ourselves. it's human nature. but it amazes me to look back on my life and see how far i have come (and how far i have to go). it's illustrated in the lives of the young ones around us. for me my nieces, but never ceases to surprise me when i see maddie reading. she couldnt do that before. it's almost magical.
It's fun to find the blog of another "LDS"...my friend Kim referred me to yours! Good stuff and very cute jewelry! I wish I were in California right now!!!
"Always remember Pooh, you're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think."
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined. I have learned, that if one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.
