In Fact....

As I was looking through these recent photos of Leslie and Grant just a few minutes ago...I came upon one like I've already posted below...(see below)...and yet, in THIS photo....you can see Cowboy sitting very much alone in the background.....isn't that precious??? It's like he KNOWS he wasn't invited to participate in the Grant-Fest. Funny that i found this tonight. Again...."GOOD DOG COWBOY!" Posted by Picasa

Ode to Cowboy...Faithful Dog O' the Manor...

no, he's not deceased...I was just thinking about little Cowboy and how he's still faithful despite the new addition here of our Grandson Grant. You can tell Cowboy has that look on his face - like he's thinking - "Who is this...and can we send him back?" Despite his obvious reluctance to "bond" with Grant, you can tell he's mildly interested in him and more than anything...he's willing to just take the backseat as the most important Small Being in our household. Good Dog. Let's all take a moment and give a hearty shout "Good Dog Cowboy!" Posted by Picasa

Expect to have hope rekindled. Expect your prayers
to be answered in wondrous ways. The dry seasons
in life do not last. The spring rains will come again.

These German Ladies...are the ones I inherited my good solid stocky frame from....

hahaha....The lady on the far left is my Great Grandmother Kirsch.
The rest of the ladies are Great Aunts to me and my grandpa is one of those little boys in front.
I bet those women could teach me a thing or two about cooking....and I am sure they would love my brownie recipe. Posted by Picasa

My Grandparents - Clarence and Margaret Kirsch

This was their first home...on Pine Street in Fresno. Notice the baby carriage on the porch...it's what I'm sure my Grandma pushed my mom around in on lovely springtime strolls. My mom and I drove down to look at the house and it still looks amazingly adorable. Luckily all owners after my Grandparents, have kept it up and the same shutters are still on the windows.
Clarence and Margaret Kirsch...Sweet people....I'm very thankful for them and for their example to me of hard work and integrity. They loved me and I never doubted that love. I still feel it..... Posted by Picasa

"Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful.
Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path.
You know you will never get to the end of the journey.
But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb. . "

Sir Winston Churchill

The words I desire to live by through the coming year...

'To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not rich; to study hard, think quietly, talk gently, act frankly; to listen to stars and birds, to babes and sages, with open heart; to bear all cheerfully, do all bravely, await occasions, hurry never. In a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common.

- William Henry Channing
